What To Know

  • Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgna have a history of feuding on The Real Housewives of New York City.
  • The women are reuniting on E!’s new series The Golden Life and drama from their past resurfaced during filming.
  • Medley opens up to TV Insider about where she and Morgan stand now, while Morgan explains why she brought up issues from the past on the new show.

Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgan admittedly haven’t maintained much of a relationship since Medley left The Real Housewives of New York City in 2020. But now, they’re back on television together once again on E!’s new series The Golden Life, and it wont take long for past drama to resurface.

“Sonja likes to hang onto things,” LuAnn de Lesseps tells TV Insider, with Medley adding, “But we had resolved it so many times.” She also admits she “didn’t even really remember” the issues that Morgan brought up during filming of The Golden Life.

“I don’t remember things from a year ago, I can’t remember something from 14 years ago, or whatever,” Medley explains. “And then there was so much life afterwards that it felt a little bit staged, you know what I mean? It’s like, is that all you got for the first episode?”

As for where they stand now, Medley says, “[Luann and I] both have things with her, and then it cycles through quickly. But I’m not super close to Sonja. I’ve never really been.” She reiterates that she’s “not someone that lives in the past” and says she’s excited “to show the audience how great it is to be in this part of your life and how you navigate it without children, without husbands. We’ve done the work.”

Morgan, meanwhile, notes that she doesn’t want to “lose” her history with Medley. “We have a lot of history together,” she shares. “I want to go forward with Dorinda. I don’t want to lose our history. So I just thought I had to tell her that. And so I [brought it up]. I tried, but then I learned again.”

As for her relationship with the other women, Medley says she talks to de Lesseps all the time, sees Kelly Bensimon “out a lot,” and spends time with Ramona Singer whenever she happens to be visiting New York City from Palm Beach. “The thing about Ramona is, Ramona will plan the lunch with you three months before,” she laughs. “‘I’m coming in on this date, block it out.’ And boy, you better make sure, I don’t care what’s going on, you are at that lunch.”
