MS NOW anchor Rachel Maddow has spotted a pattern when it comes to President Donald Trump and his administration ahead of the upcoming November midterm elections.

“See if you can spot the pattern here,” Maddow told viewers Monday night (October 19), highlighting some of the policies the administration plans to enact after the midterms. This included policies on abortion, the Iran war, tariffs, and student loans.

“Trump’s Justice Department wants to take action to further criminalize abortion somehow,” Maddow explained, per RawStory. “But they’ve been told that they need to wait on that until after the midterms. Then they can go ahead. That was two-and-a-half weeks ago.”

She then pointed to another headline about how Trump will not attack Iran until after the November midterms. “So, Trump intends to ramp back up his super-successful, totally-rational, fantastically popular war with Iran, but he says he’s going to wait on that until after the midterms,” Maddow said. “Are you starting to notice the pattern?”

Another report noted that the administration has delayed a tariff rule that would threaten access to cheaper Canadian prescription drugs. “Literally, millions of individual Americans who would be paying hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more for the prescriptions they need for their health… because of a new Donald Trump Hates Canada rule,” Maddow stated.

The longtime news reporter said the policy was supposed to take effect this week, but Trump has now delayed it. In addition, plans for the Treasury Department to hire private debt collectors to pursue people who owe student loans are on hold until after the midterms.

“But after the midterms, let her rip, right?” Maddow added. “Donald Trump is planning to sic private debt collectors on 10 million Americans for their student loans, but they’re not going to announce that they’re doing that until after the midterms. I mean, these are not things that are befalling them, right? These are all things they have done, or they plan to do.”

She continued, “They are looking forward to doing all of this stuff to you. But they know it is not exactly popular, so they plan here, the pattern you are seeing emerge, is that they’re just delaying all of it. They’re hiding the ball. They’re hoping people don’t think about this stuff, or maybe don’t even know about this stuff, when they’re deciding who to vote for in these elections or whether they will vote at all.”
