Rams’ Alaric Jackson Faces NFL Discipline After Postgame Punch Amid History of Misconduct
What To Know
- Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson punched Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb during a postgame altercation after the Rams’ overtime loss.
- This incident adds to Jackson’s history of misconduct, and Jackson is expected to face NFL discipline, potentially a suspension.
Emotions and tension boiled over following a close Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams when offensive lineman Alaric Jackson got physical.
After the Rams lost 37 to 34 in overtime, Jackson threw a blatant punch at Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb during a post-game struggle at midfield.
The altercation erupted as players gathered near the center of the field after the final whistle.
According to footage of the incident that circulated on social media, Jackson stormed up to Chubb and exchanged words before landing a direct blow to the defender’s face.
Teammates quickly rushed in to separate the two squads, dragging Chubb away by his collar as he attempted to keep the confrontation going. Chubb later told reporters after the game that he chose not to retaliate, noting that officials always catch the player who swings second.

The official ESPN account shared the moment on its social platforms, including X (f.k.a. Twitter), and several users reacted to the incident.
A few users appeared to defend Jackson, with one user commenting, “Chubb shouldn’t have had his hand in his face either.” Another user wrote, “You know Jackson wasn’t in the wrong by how Chubb teammates responded they lowkey let it happen,” while another comment said, “chubb created the whole incident with unsportsman like conduct.”
Some other users referred to Jackson’s history, with one user commenting, “This the guy who was arrested this year for domestic violence? Nooo,” while another wrote: “I see a pattern…” while sharing a screenshot of an old news story about Jackson’s reported arrests.
For Jackson, the post-game punch is indeed the latest chapter in a history of misconduct on and off the field.
The 28-year-old athlete faced scrutiny earlier this year after being arrested in June on suspicion of felony domestic violence following an alleged dispute with his pregnant girlfriend at his San Fernando Valley home. Although prosecutors opted against filing formal criminal charges at the time, the case was assigned to a pre-filing diversion hearing.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s disciplinary track record includes a two-game suspension served in 2024 for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. That penalty followed a 2025 civil lawsuit filed by a woman alleging he recorded intimate acts without her consent, which turned into a legal battle that was later moved to federal court before being dismissed.
Based on recent NFL discipline — such as Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch receiving a one-game suspension for initiating a post-game fight against the Kansas City Chiefs — Jackson likely faces a suspension for the punch.
Now sitting at 2-3 on the season, the Rams may have to navigate their next matchup against the Arizona Cardinals if they end up without their starting left tackle. If Jackson is forced to sit out, veteran David Quessenberry, who brings 30 career starts across nine seasons, could be expected to step in.
