The sixth season of Celebrity Name That Tune has already kicked off on a high note, and it only gets better from here. The game show is set to host its first-ever Halloween episode.

Host Jane Krakowski and new bandleader Robin Thicke, who replaced Randy Jackson this season, will lead an episode that’s sure to be a Thriller. During the Halloween musical event on October 12, Krakowski and Thicke welcome 1990s television icons Brian Austin Green from 90210 and Melrose Place vet Daphne Zuniga, who face off in musical trivia games such as Spin Me Round and Bid-a-Note to win big money for charity.

And you can bet there will be a seasonal game as well, hints showrunner Shane Byrne. “We have a really fun Halloween-themed game where all of the songs are creepy, kooky, and mysteriously spooky,” the EP told us. “The only thing dressed up is the music, which is what Name That Tune is all about.”

“Robin Thicke may or may not sing ‘Monster Mash,’ but you didn’t hear that from me!” he added.

After the celeb round, civilian players will step up to the podium where paranormal investigator Emily will take on supernatural writer Victoria in a monstrous Mixtape. Byrne promises their competition will be just as fearsome as the stars.

“Nobody wants to look dumb behind a podium on TV. With the celebrities playing for charity and the civilians playing for life-changing money, everyone has something to fight for,” he said. “However, the celebrities tend to be much more vocal about their competitive feelings. They don’t hold anything back. And if the celebrities know each other, which a lot of them do, it’s an all-out war! In the nicest possible way, of course!”

Byrne also promises “lots of musical surprises” ahead in Season 6, including future Mixtape rounds featuring music from the Spice Girls, Billy Joel, and The Beatles. Some themed games this season include Wedding Songs, New Wave, a Jazz Remixed game, and many more.

About Thicke taking over for Jackson, Byrne said, “Firstly, we all love and miss the legendary Mr. Randy Jackson. Robin had some big shoes to fill, but he has brought such a fresh and exciting energy to the show. There is no doubt about it, Robin Thicke is an enormously talented performer, and he brings that effortless musical talent to each and every show. He sings a lot during the season, and when he does, each and every time, it’s a standing ‘O’ from the audience in the studio.”

“Might I also add that Jane Krakowski is on fire this season. Her talent is immense, and she is always a joy to watch. She is everyone’s cheerleader. There are a few duets between Jane and Robin this season, and those are some very special moments,” he ended.

But before the ’90s Halloween episode kicks off, find out how two military members, face off for more money on October 5.
