Bill Maher just blasted President Donald Trump‘s response to skyrocketing gas prices.
In the Friday, September 18 episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, the late-night host, 70, took aim at the POUTS, 80, during his opening monologue.
“Thank you, if you’re here. Because the price of gas is at an all-time high,” Maher began. “So unless you walked here to the studio, I assume it cost you something to get here.”
After noting that gas costs “like $6 a gallon” in Los Angeles, where the HBO show is filmed, Maher addressed Trump’s response to the situation.
“Trump, I gotta tell ya, this guy, he is a different kind of politician,” he declared. “Normally, the president, when the gas prices are high, they’re like, ‘We’re sorry, we’re gonna do everything we can.’ Trump is like, ‘Stop your b****ing!'”
Maher continued, “Really, he said it yesterday. He said, ‘Very inexpensive price for what we’re getting done in Iran.’ And this is while he was campaigning. Really. Apparently, for the Democrats.”
The stand-up comedian then pointed out, “This is is attitude about all high prices. Not just gas — beef, everything that’s high — he says, save your money somewhere else. Buy bargain brands. Get your own snacks at the movies. If your son [Donald Trump Jr.] is getting remarried, have the Russians pay for it. There are ways to cut down on your budget!”
On Wednesday, Trump spoke at a midterm election campaign event in Gastonia, North Carolina.
“It’s a very inexpensive price to pay for what we’ve done. Remember that,” the president said during a rally for Michael Whatley (R-N.C.), who is running for the U.S. Senate, per The Hill. “It’s a little more. Frankly, even if it was a lot more.”
Trump then promised, “But that’s going to come tumbling down. That’s going to be like rocket ships in reverse.”
