Carrot Top has been hospitalized after a suicide attempt, and his rep shared a health update.

On Friday, September 18, the comedian, 61, whose real name is Scott Thompson, attempted suicide, TMZ reported. His show that night in Las Vegas was canceled.

“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Jami Schlicher, Carrot Top’s rep, told the outlet in the latest health update. “His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”

Meanwhile, MGM Resorts released a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s outlet, Neon,

“Scott is a beloved member of the Luxor and MGM Resorts family, and we are relieved to hear that he is recovering,” it read. “We are thinking of him and wish him strength as he receives the care and support he needs.”

In the comments of Carrot Top’s most recent Instagram update, on September 17, fans flooded him with words of support. One follower shared, “We love you brotha’. You’re an absolute legend. We’re all in this together. Prayers your way.”
