When Will ‘Adults’ Be Renewed for Season 3? What the Latest Ratings Reveal
What To Know
- Adults Season 2 is anything but a sophomore slump as FX unveils the comedy’s boosted ratings.
- We break down what this could mean for the show’s Season 3 renewal chances.
Adults Season 2 may have dropped on Hulu a couple of weeks ago, but the FX comedy continues to delight viewers on linear broadcasts as episodes roll out. What does it mean for Season 3 prospects? A new ratings report could indicate that fans will see good news for the show’s future sooner rather than later.
According to FX, Adults is going against the status quo by bypassing the “sophomore slump” with season-over-season viewership growth of more than 40 percent across Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally. Global viewers were a large portion of that ratings jump, with Season 2 pulling in over one-hundred percent growth for international viewership on Season 2, doubling Season 1’s numbers.
Additionally, streaming viewership for Season 1 saw a bump with fifty percent growth since the launch of Adults‘ prequel episode “Marathon Day,” which introduced Samir (Malik Elassal), Issa (Amita Rao), Anton (Owen Thiele), and Billie (Lucy Freyer) to Paul Baker (Jack Innanen), in this comedy about twentysomething friends trying to make their way navigating adult life.

Critically acclaimed across the board, Adults Season 2 has a 100 percent certified fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
In other words, fans can rest easy knowing that a renewal for Season 3 is more likely than ever before with this bump in ratings so quickly after Season 2’s arrival. As fans may recall, Season 1 released in the summer of 2025 and wasn’t renewed for Season 2 until October 2025, but with fall steadily approaching, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed Season 3’s renewal is that much closer.
As fans saw, Season 2 of the comedy from creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw set up plenty of great storylines for the comedy to pursue as Billie and Samir teased a surprise hook-up in the finale’s closing moments, and Anton and Paul Baker finally gave in to their mutual feelings, seemingly setting up a full-blown romance for whatever comes next.
We want to see what’s next, but until then, stay tuned for more on Adults, and let us know what you’d like to see for the series if Season 3 is ordered at FX.

Horrible show, but I'm happy for things I will never watch to get renewed. Then I will have more time for the shows that I do want to see.
