CNN’s conservative commentator Scott Jennings was called out on social media on Thursday (September 10) after he slammed Hillary Clinton for her comments about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate appeared on MS NOW’s Morning Joe earlier this week, during which she suggested Netanyahu possibly allowed the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas to happen to improve his own political position.

Clinton was referring to new reports from the Israeli press that Netanyahu had advance warning of the October 7 attacks and failed to intervene. “Either he didn’t believe it, or, and it’s horrible to say, he wanted to see what they could plan, so that he could come down hard and it would enhance his position,” she said.

Jennings shared a clip of Clinton’s comments on his X page, writing, “Is Hillary the biggest conspiracy theorist in America? Still thinks Russia stole the 2016 election & now says Oct 7 was an inside job. Good grief.”

However, many social media users quickly pointed out that the late Charlie Kirk, someone Jennings has spoken highly of in the past, shared similar beliefs to Clinton.

“Your guy Charlie Kirk suggested the same,” wrote Zeteo News founder Mehdi Hasan. “I dare you to criticize him for that on the one-year anniversary of his murder.”

Hasan included a link to a 2023 Washington Times article, revealing Kirk had his own suspicions of Israel’s response to the Hamas attack. “Israel is the size of New Jersey. When I took a helicopter ride from Jerusalem to the Gaza border, it was 45 minutes. [It took the Israel Defense Forces] six hours!” said Kirk, per RawStory.

He continued, “[Hamas was] livestreaming the killing of Jews. Did somebody in the government say, stand down? That is a legitimate, nonconspiracy question. The whole country is the IDF, the whole country is! And you’re trying to tell me that they’re going to concerts and kibbutz’s, and schools?”

Kirk, who co-founded the nonprofit that advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses, was assassinated on September 10, 2025, while on stage at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

As of writing, Jennings has not responded to Hasan’s post or to others who drew a comparison between Kirk and Clinton’s arguments.

Why anyone bothers to listen to Jennings, I'll never understand. For goodness sake, he can't even recognize that Clinton was making a conditional statement based on her knowledge of history and the ways in which world leaders cling to power. Without more information, it's impossible to know if Netanyahu is that cold and calculating. But, it's also impossible to know that he isn't without additional insight. That's called providing a thorough, thoughtful analysis. It's what actual diplomats and leaders on the world stage do. You have to consider all the angles and all the possibilities. Jennings is either too much of a dim bulb to do the same, too lazy to do anything other than adhere to talking points as a partisan hack, or choosing to ignore reality because it's more lucrative for him to engage in the nonsense attacks on anything and everything a Clinton or Obama says or does.

Jennings is fake news most of the time. Who even wants him?

She is an opportunistic doormat, overlooking her husband's transgressions in order to hang on to the spotlight.
