One Chicago Trailer Highlights Life & Death Drama Ahead of Fall Returns

“When it feels like life or death, it can be easy to justify stepping over other people to save yourself,” Lieutenant Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) says in the new One Chicago trailer released ahead of all three shows — Med, Fire, and P.D. — returning on Wednesday, October 7, beginning at 8/7c as usual. “But you live or die together.”

Watch the video above to see what’s coming up across the three shows, all of which left off with some pretty big questions that need to be answered. There’s a car driving right into the hospital (who gets hit?), a reminder of the danger that 51 is in, and some of the action for Intelligence glimpsed in the teaser. What it doesn’t reveal is anything about the fates of any of the characters caught up in the cliffhangers from last spring. We’ll have to wait until the premieres to get those answers.

Chicago Fire left off with the biggest shocker of all: Almost all of 51 was trapped inside a burning building (or on a ladder right outside it). It’s unknown if everyone will survive, though we do know that Dermot Mulroney (Dom Pascal) and Joe Miñoso (Joe Cruz) will be leaving after the premiere and a handful of episodes, respectively.

Chicago Med will have Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) fighting for her job after being accused of leaking personnel information — and we know she won’t just sit back and let anyone fire her. There’s also the matter of what’s next for Drs. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) and Dean Archer (Steven Weber) after they had a baby together, he confessed his love, and she kissed him.

Then, over on Chicago P.D., Eva Imani (Arienne Mandi) has to see what Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) will do with the fact that her sister, Shari (Selin Çuhadaroglu), who’d been kidnapped as a young girl and groomed, is guilty of murder.
