Adults star Owen Thiele is getting a little meta as the actor unveiled his harrowing airport odyssey across several social media posts, proving he’s more like Anton than you might have realized.

The performer took to Instagram stories, where he detailed his experience with a grounded flight after an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he ultimately connected with a group of fellow passengers, making quick friends amidst the chaos. “We just had an emergency landing in Albuquerque. Any recs?” Thiele wrote over an image featuring a firefighter aboard the plane.

Thiele also disclosed that Andrew Garfield and Nick Robinson happened to be on the flight as well, although they weren’t traveling together. Ultimately, Thiele lived up to Anton’s penchant for making friends, as he quickly formed a group with fellow flyers, proclaiming, “Made friends in the airport, I’m not kidding.”

As fans will recall, in Adults Season 1, Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Issa (Amita Rao), and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen) gave Anton flak for making friends with everyone he meets, including a neighborhood stabber (played by Ray Nicholson).

While the friends may have teased Anton for his social butterfly habits, they affectionately called him a “friend slut.” It’s clear that Thiele possesses the innate ability to make connections at any given time.

Among the highlights from Thiele’s hilarious odyssey are a group trip with strangers to Dave & Buster’s and an Uber Eats order to the airport from P.F. Chang’s, which ended up being the wrong order. Gasp!

The hilarity can be seen in Thiele’s full Instagram post, which he captioned, “who wants to get stuck in Albuquerque again w me.”

Ultimately, Thiele managed to make it to New York, where he was traveling to, as revealed in his Instagram stories, making the best of a relatable travel mishap. Perhaps it could serve as some inspiration for Adults Season 3? Here’s to hoping so as we await word on the show’s future.
