How Did Jamie Tartt Return to ‘Ted Lasso’ in Season 4?
Spoiler Alert
Ted Lasso got into the festive spirit with its latest Season 4 installment, “Don’t Jump Around Much Anymore,” which saw the return of one fan-favorite character. Warning: Spoilers for Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 6!
None other than Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) made his on-screen return after much speculation about whether or not he’d be back. After Season 4 previously teased his move to Barcelona, where he joined a new team after leaving AFC Richmond, Jamie Tartt’s return was a welcome one as Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Keeley (Juno Temple), and Roy (Brett Goldstein) attended his local vodka launch party to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
The Adam and Eve-themed event saw Jamie transform as he donned minimal clothing, save for some strategically placed leaves, and debuted a bleach-blonde hairdo. While the merriment included some sweet reunions, things took a dicey turn when Roy and Jamie got a little too boisterous when they couldn’t keep from dancing along to House of Pain’s “Jump Around.”

Ultimately, the jumping around is too much for Roy, who collapses on the dance floor with his bad knee, forcing Jamie to scoop him up off the ground and help escort him to the hospital. What follows is a series of waiting room pep talks from Jamie to Keeley and Rebecca, amid their romance woes.
As viewers saw in the installment’s closing moments, Jamie went so far as to almost kiss Rebecca in an attempt to make her feel better about her rocky relationship, which was reaffirmed when Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn) showed up at the hospital to share a midnight smooch.
Needless to say, his return was a welcome one, even if his shady vodka launch only made us long for the days of Keeley’s marketing expertise guiding the footballer on his endeavours. Whether or not he’ll stick around for a little while longer remains to be seen.
