Matt Groening‘s (The Simpsons) undying animated outer-space comedy, now enjoying its third life (first on Fox, then on cable) in the streaming universe, returns for a 14th season with two episodes. The first reveals that the hapless Fry has a hidden talent: hot dog eating, and before he was frozen for a millennium, he came oh so close to being the next Joey Chestnut. He’d like to try again, but with cows now extinct, it falls on Professor Farnsworth to have a “moo-reka!” moment and create enough lab-grown meat to stage a new contest. The irrepressible robot Bender takes over for the second episode, when he learns that his “abuela-tron” grandma at the Rusty Acres Robot Retirement Home and Recycling Center has fallen victim to a devious scammer.

The Chelsea Detective

Fans of British mystery can dig into the first of four new cases being tackled by DI Max Arnold (Adrian Scarborough) and his team, who police London’s posh Chelsea district. The fourth season opens with the discovery of a butler’s body floating in the Thames. Upon further study, the corpse turns out to be that of a journalist who was working undercover to find dirt on the household of a fashion-industry mogul. Maybe not the best way to get a scoop.

Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro

The competition welcomes two-time Mirrorball champ Jenna Johnson, who provides a sizzling demonstration of her craft before delivering the contestants’ latest challenge, which is all about creating chemistry between dance partners. The goal: to “connect with your partner and build a performance so intimate it will send pulses racing.” The remaining eight dancers pair off into teams, and the problem for one begins early when the women get to choose their partners, and one guy is initially left hanging. Performing rumbas and Argentine tangos, a new front-runner emerges, while one of the couples is sent home.

Furious

There’s plenty of fury to go around in the fourth episode of the riveting crime thriller, as new FBI agent Alice (Emmy Rossum), bearing the scars of her latest sexual encounter, edges closer to learning the identity of her serial-killer target while on a road trip with her former NYPD partner Danny (Scoot McNairy). Meanwhile, the vengeful Catherine (Lola Petticrew) zeroes in on her latest victim, and while her outrageous behavior seems crazy, there’s a method to her lethal madness.

Modern Marvels

Tom Hanks‘s World War II chronicle may be over, but the fascination continues with two new chapters of the series depicting the era’s engineering breakthroughs. The first episode focuses on “mega builds” including a mammoth Japanese battleship, blasting a 100-mile road through mountains in Asia and the construction of the iconic Pentagon. The second is all about such innovative gadgets and weapons as the Enigma code-breaking machine, early night-vision scopes, the bazooka and a rendering through AI of the Germans’ six-engine “Gigant” transport plane.
