Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov Issues Blunt Warning About Trump Running for President Again
What To Know
- Jessica Tarlov warned that Donald Trump will do everything in his power to run for president again, despite term limits.
- Tarlov expressed her reluctance to interact with Trump and criticized the idea that meeting him would change her opinion.
Jessica Tarlov thinks Donald Trump will do whatever it takes to run for president again, despite already serving the maximum of two terms in office. The Five host appeared on MeidasTouch’s On Sunday With Jack Cocchiarella and warned listeners that Trump has already sent her merchandise promoting his 2028 campaign.
“He customized Trump 2028 hats for me and, you know, said something like, ‘Thank you for your great support.’ And I get it that it’s funny for a cheap laugh,” she began. “I happen to think that he wiill do everything in his power to be able to stick around as long as possible, and certainly if Steve Bannon gets his way. So I’m not really interesting in palling around or playing nice.”
Tarlov serves as the Democratic voice on Fox News’ The Five and often speaks out against him on the Republican-led show. She said her cohosts and colleagues at Fox News “will always say, ‘Oh, if you met [Trump], you’d love him,” but noted that she’s “not interested in manipulating him or really having that much interaction with him, even if it’s, you know, through the television screen.”
The journalist defended New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdami’s choice to meet with Trump noting, “He got himself billions of dollars of investment in New York. That is worth a photo op. Especially when he wasn’t even smiling. He didn’t compromise his morals. He didn’t compromise and go back on anything that he had said about the president. He even said it to his face.”
Tarlov said that if she met Trump she would “just look sour and sullen” and admitted that she’s “not good at faking a smile,” so it wouldn’t be worth it for her to meet Trump and have to put on a happy face.
