Four women have accused Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct in a new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, which airs on July 29. The women all claim the alleged offenses took place when they were teenagers.
The BBC has confirmed that 10 women total are speaking out against Leto in the documentary, with nine sharing their stories for the very first time. The alleged incidents took place between the years of 2002 and 2016.
One woman featured in the documentary accused Leto of assaulting her in a motel bathroom when she was just 17 years old, according to BBC. A second woman alleges that she was unexpectedly left in a hotel room with the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman, who allegedly threatened her with sexual assault, when she was 19.
The third woman claimed she had sex with Leto in California when she was 17. He allegedly “shrugged” it off when it was brought up that the age of consent in California is 18.

Another woman accused Leto of grooming her and claimed he made sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16, including at least one occasion where he suggested they have sex. Leto allegedly sent her a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that she did not sign.
Additionally, four other women featured in the doc allege that Leto made “strange” and “very sexual phone calls” to them when they were younger. Someone else claimed Leto made a vulgar comment about her chest at a music festival after instructing a security guard to bring her backstage when she was 14.
Leto did not respond to the BBC’s request for comment. The organization said it “corroborated a number of the women’s accounts” with friends and family members who were made aware of the accusations by the alleged victims. “In some cases, we have also seen pictures and messages that support the women’s accounts,” the BBC added.
The documentary also features two men who previously worked with Thirty Seconds to Mars for many years and claim they were “uncomfortable” with the way they saw Leto interact with younger girls. The men accused Leto of inviting teenage girls to his dressing room or even the house where he was recording music.
In 2025, Leto was accused of sexual misconduct by DJ Allie Teilz, who claimed she was 17 when he “assaulted and traumatized” her. After she came forward, Air Mail reported that nine women had accused Leto of inappropriate behavior.
