What To Know

  • CBS News business analyst Jill Schlesinger is launching a new podcast, Money Moves With Jill Schlesinger.
  • The podcast aims to debunk outdated financial advice and address current economic realities.
  • This announcement comes amid significant turmoil at CBS News, including the firings and departures of several high-profile producers and correspondents.

As shakeups continue at CBS News, one of the network’s longtime personalities is getting a new show.

Jill Schlesinger will host the new podcast Money Moves With Jill Schlesinger. “CBS News Business Analyst and Certified Financial Planner Jill Schlesinger has spent years pushing back on outdated advice across TV, radio, and print, helping people replace trite truisms with strategies that actually work in 2026,” the network announced on Tuesday, June 30. “Now, she and CFP Mark Talercio are starting a new show to answer your caller questions, break down the financial news that actually matters, and help you make smarter decisions with your money.”

The podcast, which premiered on Tuesday, will drop new episodes every Tuesday and Thursday. According to Variety, the show will feature conversations between Schlesinger and listeners about all things finance.

Schlesinger opened up about the podcast during Tuesday’s episode of CBS Mornings, noting that it is for people who want to take control of their financial lives without the stress of saving every penny.

“I don’t want anyone to live like a monk and be stuck saying, ‘I’m saving, and all I can do is save,’” she shared. “And, of course, you guys know I love saving and investing, but I think there’s a nice marriage of doing that but also enjoying yourself along the way.”

She continued, “The joy of this show is for around 20 minutes, we get to cover whatever’s going on in that day or that week, and also be able to talk to people live and answer their questions in real time, which is so much fun.”

In a statement to Variety, Schlesinger noted that she hopes to call out financial influencers, a.k.a. “finfluencers,” through her podcast. “It will also call out some of the elders (a.k.a. my cohort) who give advice that is outdated or doesn’t recognize that the financial and economic landscape has changed dramatically since they were starting their journeys,” she added.

Schlesinger has served as a CBS News business analyst since 2009. In addition to her on-air role and new podcast, Schlesinger will continue to host her other podcast, Jill on Money.

The show’s announcement comes amid turmoil at CBS News, including the firing of 60 Minutes producers Draggan Mihailovich and Tanya Simon and correspondents Cecilia Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi. Longtime correspondent Scott Pelley was also fired from the series after speaking out against CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, who has been accused of making the network’s coverage more favorable to Donald Trump‘s presidential administration.

On Monday, June 29, veteran 60 Minutes producer Henry Schuster announced via LinkedIn that he also stepped away from the news magazine series in February, but that his exit was “overshadowed” by the “forced departures” of his high-profile colleagues. (The New York Post reported in February that several CBS News staffers accepted a buyout from the network.)
