Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness

Series Premiere

With the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations a week away, Larry David brings his crabby Curb Your Enthusiasm-honed persona to the party in a rollicking romp through American history. Poking holes in our noblest and most iconic tableaux in a seven-week series of sketches and vignettes, David gathers members of his repertory company (Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Garlin, J.B. Smoove, Susie Essman, and more) plus an impressive array of special guest stars to send up events from the drafting of the Declaration of Independence to the first Moon landing of 1969. Imagine Larry David on Rosa Parks’ bus, managing a way station of the Underground Railroad, or cowering at the Alamo. He’ll always be the most aggravating person in the room where it happens. His fans wouldn’t have it any other way. (See the full review.)

Chris & Martina: The Final Set

Documentary Premiere

Their rivalry pushed women’s professional tennis to new heights, but the battles were just beginning for Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, each being diagnosed with cancer long after they retired their rackets. An intimate and moving documentary, airing on the cusp of a new Wimbledon tournament (which Evert won three times and Navratilova a remarkable nine), replays the highlights of their legendary careers on the court, and how they have supported each other as they fought and continue to fight the disease. “They were battling a war forever on the tennis court. And now, in life, they’re trying to save each other,” says Evert’s supportive ex-husband, former alpine ski racer Andy Mill.

Anchor Lester Holt reports an emotionally wrenching special edition, “After the Flood,” featuring interviews with eight mothers of children who died last year during the devastating July 2025 flood at Camp Mystic in Texas that killed 28 people. In unison, the Houston moms insist that the tragedy could “100 percent” have been averted and are still seeking answers from the camp’s owners, who this week filed for bankruptcy.

Finn Little and Cole Hauser, 'Dutton Ranch,' Season 1, Episode 8, Paramount Network, premieres June 26, 2026.

Dutton Ranch

With the Season 1 finale just a week away — long gone are the days when shows like Dallas would produce up to 30 episodes a year — the Yellowstone sequel stirs up more intrigue at the 10 Petal ranch, where Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) are seen by ailing matriarch Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening) as key to continued success. A Game of Thrones-like battle for succession is brewing between Beulah’s black-hat biological son, Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney), and adoptive heir, Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba), who both know how to play dirty. And back on Dutton land, a very concerned Rip and Beth try to get a seriously hungover Carter (Finn Little) to straighten up and ride high in the saddle.

Anna Maxwell Martin in 'Star City,' Season 1, Episode 6, Apple TV, premieres June 26, 2026.

Star City

A nail-biting episode of the For All Mankind spinoff focuses on the tension between the Soviet space agency’s Chief Designer (Rhys Ifans) and KGB ghoul Raskova (Anna Maxwell Martin). Her discovery that the Chief Designer not only launched a secret, unsanctioned mission to Venus but also allowed an alleged traitor, Valya Mironov (Adam Nagaitis), to sneak on board leads to a fateful showdown in Star City’s control room. On the paranoid home front, Valya’s wife Tanya (Ruby Ashbourne Serkis) is in hiding, planning her escape from Russia.

That Larry David thing sounds interesting, but I don't get HBO so I'll have to miss it. There really isn't anything on tonight that interests me. Also, I'm so tired of these Yellowstone sequels and prequels and 'sister shows.' It seems that once a TV show gets popular, the producers do their best to bleed it dry and squeeze as much out of it as they can, however they can. I’d like to check out the Paul Simon concert at some point. I know about the hearing loss, and he’s in his mid 80s, but I’ve heard him in both poor and surprisingly good voice in TV appearances over the past few years.
