‘All My Children’ Star Marcy Walker’s ‘Ongoing Health Issue’ Sparks GoFundMe Campaign

Friends of All My Children star Marcy Walker recently started a GoFundMe campaign for the actress amid an “ongoing health issue.”

Recently, an online fundraising effort for Walker, 64, was launched to help cover medical expenses during a difficult time in the soap opera star’s life.

In the GoFundMe description, organizers pointed out the immense joy Walker brought to daytime TV as Liza Colby in All My Children and Eden Capwell in Santa Barbara. They also noted that fans loved seeing the actress during a recent virtual livestream event, writing, “The immediate outpouring of love, nostalgia, and gratitude from fans all over the world was nothing short of breathtaking.”

The fundraiser organizers then made a call to action, revealing “But beyond the glamour of the screen and the joy of our recent reunion, life brings real-world challenges. Today, Marcy needs our help.”

They continued, “While she has spent years giving her time, energy, and heart to others — both as an actress and later through her dedicated ministry and community work — she is currently navigating an ongoing health issue where financial support is urgently needed.”

In the description, Walker’s friends explained that all donations would directly help cover “essential medical expenses, giving her the peace of mind she deserves.” The GoFundMe campaign is already nearing its $15,000 goal, as of writing.

In a May Instagram video, Walker’s former costar, A Martinez — who played Cruz Castillo in Santa Barbara — addressed why they decided to charge for the June livestream.

“Marcy has been ill and is working hard to get well,” he explained. “And in the process, has come face-to-face with the financial challenges that so often plague those of us unlucky enough to need serious medical care in our country. She is in that need.”

All My Children aired for 42 seasons from 1970 to 2011 on ABC (in addition to one season in 2013 on TOLN). Walker played Liza from 1981 to 1984, and again from 1995 to 2004; she returned for a third time in 2005.

Aside from All My Children and Santa Barbara, Walker’s other notable acting credits include the 1985 film Hot Resort and the 1993 TV movie Nick’s Game. She also appeared in three episodes of Guiding Light from 1993 to 1995.
