‘Fox & Friends’: Ainsley Earhardt Says Trump Supporters Are ‘Tired’ of Ongoing Iran War

Fox News anchor Ainsley Earhardt admitted that many Donald Trump supporters are “tired” of his ongoing war with Iran and want the economy to get back on track ahead of the midterm elections.

Earhardt made the comments on Thursday’s (June 11) edition of Fox and Friends after chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst spoke with the president on the phone.

“Trey, what do you say to our viewers who love Donald Trump and support him and trust him… but they’re tired of this, and they see that the midterms are around the corner, they want our economy to get back on track and our gas prices to drop,” Earhardt said. “What do we need to do to get out?”

While Yingst claimed that Trump’s secret operation to move oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz has helped “stabilize oil prices,” the overall public sentiment towards the war continues to trend negatively.

As noted by RawStory, a CBS News-YouGov poll in March showed 84 percent of Republicans backed military action in Iran. However, by the end of March, this number dropped to 77 percent in a Fox News-Beacon Research survey. And an April Fox poll showed that overall support for Trump’s war was down to 45 percent, with 55 percent opposed.

Despite telling reporters outside Air Force One on Monday (June 8) that a peace deal could be signed within “two to three days,” Trump’s call with Yingst suggested the conflict is far from over. According to Yingst, Trump called the ceasefire “one of the worst” in history because Iran continued its attacks throughout.

When asked what would happen if Iran refused to sign a peace agreement, Yingst quoted the president as saying, “‘We’ll bomb the s*** out of them tomorrow night.'”

Earhardt’s remarks come just days after her Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade argued against the return of Confederate monuments. Kilmeade spoke out after a monument to Robert E. Lee was put back on display at a school campus in Charleston, South Carolina, following its removal in 2021.

“I’m not necessarily into seeing Robert E. Lee’s statue come back. He made a choice, and it was the wrong choice,” Kilmeade said, which appeared to surprise Earhardt.

Earhardt responded, “I’m surprised to hear you say that, because you always say, let’s not erase history.”

“Yeah, but I wouldn’t want to give a tribute to them,” Kilmeade replied. “I’m not saying forget what Robert E. Lee did well, but to have his statue back up as if it’s a tribute to him? He made a choice, and it was the wrong choice.”
