First Look at the Dramatic ‘Y&R’ and ‘Beyond the Gates’ Crossover (VIDEO)
The crossover between Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless kicks off June 9, and TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of what happens when the Duprees, Abbotts, and Newmans find themselves in the same room in Fairmont Crest.
Sheila Ducksworth, an executive producer of BTG who also serves as president of the CBS Studios/NAACP venture, says the connection between the CBS soaps began long before the new daytime drama premiered in February 2025.
“It was definitely a hush-hush, kind of situation until we got our green light,” Ducksworth recalls. “But I was able to connect with so many people who had roots in soap for decades, and then once we got our green light, Brad Bell [B&B‘s executive producer and head writer] is one of the best, and Josh Griffin [Y&R‘s head writer] was so helpful. Y&R opened their doors to us and let us see, not just on paper, how do we really do it? It was just incredible to have the opportunity to work together in that capacity.”

While the three soaps have had crossovers in the past, Ducksworth says this event is on a much larger scale. “You’ve seen little kernels of stuff,” she notes. “We’ll talk about Forrester, and we’ll talk about different characters, and we’ve even had some of the characters come over in a smaller way for an episode, but you’re going to see a multi-episode display of the Newmans and the Abbotts and everybody on the show really intermingled with our Duprees, and it is going to be big, and I mean big.”
And the fallout won’t end when the Genoa City residents head home. “It’s big episodes, and then it doesn’t just stop there,” teases the exec. “What happens in these episodes is so compelling, and then what happens as a result of what happens in these episodes is epic. That is all I can say. It is epic.”

I've been a fan of Y&R since 1980 and there are always storylines and characters that you love, or, love to hate. I have watched Beyond the Gates from thr beginning and it took a minute to get the characters straight,where they'd been, where they were and where they were headed. I adore Clifton Davis and Tamara Tunie, the touchstone & backbone of the Dupree Family. Karla Mosley is my favorite! Dani Dupree is strong, speaks her mind and when Bill cheated with the snake/vixen Hayley, she brushed herself off and found new love with Andre Richardson. The whole cast is great and I am enjoying this soap, the cast, the generational ties/love! This soap is for everyone and as an (oldish) white grandma I am hooked! Keep the great scripts coming!! I hate that Timon Kyle Durret's role is nearing the end. I hope his 'evil' twin shows up. Same with Ben Gavin--he was great as Derrick. The crossover with Y&R is going to be fun!

BTG shows that people have the same issues in families and communities. As the stories evolve, you begin to attach yourself to one or the other.

BTG is new and this is the first television crossover that the fans will see so I don't know why the write of this piece is saying that the three soaps have done crossovers before because they have not this would be the first .

Devon from Y&R was on with Anita and offered her a record contract. And Forrester from B&B offered Dani a modeling job. So this will not be the first crossover.

BTG is new, but they've already had Y&R and B&B crossovers. Devon and Michael from Y&R and Ridge from B&B. You probably just missed it.

Ummmm.... don't know what you've been watching but Devon has been on the show, ChelseaKat bags are selling in Fenmore stores...Ridge , Michael....so crossovers are definitely not new here.... Catch up🤷🏾♀️

I don’t like that it will be a crossover...I feel it's only being done to give beyond the gate more exposure..
Why not leave well enough alone
Y&R AND B&B are great and doing good just as they are..except I wish B&B could be atleast 30 minutes longer ...as in being an hour long .
We will see how this goes
But when these two shows Y&R and B&B are phenomenal..why mess with that ..

I don’t think you researched the ratings! BTG is doing great in the ratings! It’s doing better than General Hospital and it’s time slot is doing 50% better than what used to be in the time slot
