Denzel Washington has finalized his run as Robert McCall in The Equalizer 3, the final installment of The Equalizer franchise, and is now available to buy or rent.
The three films are based on the 1980s television series starring Edward Woodward as McCall, a retired intelligence agent. His strong sense of justice, combined with a mysterious past, brings him into often dangerous situations where he must defend the innocent. The show ran from 1985 until 1989 and has spawned not just the Equalizer films starring Washington but a series reboot starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall.
The Equalizer 3 follows McCall as he attempts to reconcile situations from his past and live a quiet life in Italy. However, his past always catches up with him, and he returns once again to save his friends from the mafia. The film brought back not only Washington but also Richard Wenk and Antoine Fuqua, who worked on the first two films, as the screenwriter and director. The film also stars David Denman, Sonia Ammar, and Dakota Fanning.
