President Obama Delivers His Farewell Address: Where to Watch

On Jan. 10, President Barack Obama will return to Chicago to deliver his farewell address to the nation he’s led for the past eight years. President Obama’s time in office comes to a close Jan. 20, with the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

“In 1796, as George Washington set the precedent for a peaceful, democratic transfer of power, he also set a precedent by penning a farewell address to the American people. And over the 220 years since, many American presidents have followed his lead,” Obama wrote in an intro to a message on the White House web site, announcing his address.
Several networks will offer live coverage of the president’s farewell address, which is scheduled to begin at 9pm ET. The major broadcast networks—ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and PBS—and most of the cable news outlets, along with C-SPAN, BET, Centric and TV One will air the speech.
