‘Onision: In Real Life’ Documentary Investigates Abuse Allegations Against the YouTube Star
“I was just a kid. If I’d been able to see the signs I could have been saved.”
These are the words of Canadian singer Shiloh Hoganson, 27, who opens up about her disturbing relationship with controversial YouTube personality Onision in a new documentary.
The three-part limited series Onision: In Real Life streams on discovery+ beginning January 4. It tells the story of Greg Jackson, 35, who created the persona of “Onision” and has gained more than 2 million followers on YouTube with his videos that often objectified women, including some where he humiliated Shiloh (below) and pretended to shoot her.
Last year Onision hit the headlines after a string of young women came forward making abuse accusations. Then To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen began investigating claims that the YouTube star was involved in grooming underage girls.
Onision, who is known for communicating with fans online, is said to have had relationships with many of the females he has met on the internet.
“He has been accused of almost cult-like tactics,” says Hanson in the documentary. “He used that fame in such a disturbing way. In his heyday he was a teen heartthrob. He was seen as an attractive young guy with a message who could speak to these girls. He developed a following. It was really something.”
Onision, who says his name means “One divine community,” is described as a “monster” in the documentary, but insists he is just misunderstood. Yet while Chris Hansen (below) probed into his behavior, he even posted videos mocking and taunting Hansen online.
Fellow YouTuber Blaire White describes Onision as “the R.Kelly of YouTube.”
Most of the focus of the documentary is on his ex-fiancee Shiloh, who earlier in her music career performed with Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, and now goes by the professional name Lyldoll.
She got together with Onasion after he befriended her online when she was just 16; it developed into something more serious after he broke up from his first wife, Skye, in 2010.
Much of Onision and Shiloh’s life together was played out on his YouTube channel, which was making him $30,000 a month according to Shiloh.
But she says she became little more than “his slave” and the stresses of their life together caused her to have a breakdown. Eventually, they split and now, looking back, Shiloh says their relationship was not so much about love but “lust and control.”
She adds: “I’ll do anything in my power to make sure this doesn’t happen to somebody else.”

Regardless of whether or not you think the accusations are valid it is a fact that he was having a sexual relationship with an underage girl while being a grown adult man. That alone is enough to make him a creep.

What’s REALLY concerning is I too was 15, 17, 18 & I know hundreds of people and from many DIFFERENT states & not one of them would think a guy online acting like a weirdo child, screaming like a moron & ridiculously using guns for violence during these scary times, could possibly come across to a regular person as Normal & Cool. It’s quite scary how easily influenced SOME can be. Most kids I even know 10-15 as well would be smart enough already to see MANY WARNING SIGNS.

There are also videos of her shooting him too right and letters stating everything she said was false. Documentary was a lie to sell... I have a lot of questions regarding Shiloh's story. You cheated on him girl, yet you cried and begged not to be thrown out. Cops made you leave and you are begging him not to break up with you. Then you say you never could leave the house . Yeah you did. How you cheat on him? How you Skype friends? All these things keep playing in my head. Then I finally got the answers by watching another documentary. Its called, "two sides to every story!" Just because you get dumped does not mean you want to make them hurt by lying and making false allegations. Shiloh literally done all this because he dumped her. Its sad....Hanson was fired so this story isnt even related to him anymore. Then the bow tie geek with black hair literally is weird, he was also fired...so everyone who done this documentary has been fired. Shiloh, is crazy. I am sorry but anyone knows the documentary side (and do know I felt bad for Shiloh and HATED Onison after watching it) but then I seen "Onison Speaks" on youtube and he literally has so much evidence to knock out everything in this documentary and even sue them for everything including defamation of character. I was so amazed at the evidence that proved she was a liar....She even says. Just watch it.

A perfect example of cancel culture ignorance and people jumping on the bandwagon of a trial by the media. The doc portrays like they're conducting an investigation when there was already an investigation before the doc was ever made that found NOTHING. The so called victims did not want to make a police report when contacted by the authorities, but they have no problem getting on a TV show that paid them. Highly suspicious that they didn't seek justice by proper means when they had the chance, but have no problem getting paid to make unfounded accusations. Classic tale of women spurned that seek vengeance instead of moving on. The doc was trashy, disjointed, bad journalism, completely one sided, and a downright slanderous witch hunt.

Still confused, what exactly is this guy doing wrong? I got curious and started to research into this and the allegations make no sense, are proven false, or at best are just of him being a bit of a horndog? What is this?

If your definition of horndog includes grooming young girls. This guy wasn't trying to create mutual polyamorous relationships with WOMEN...he manipulated young and impressionable girls. Legality aside...would you send your daughter to hang out with him?

He's adopted/became guardians of teenage underage girls with the intent to have sex with them once they turned 18. He and his partner Kai have explicitly made it clear to those girls that they wanted to have sex with them while they were underage. He met his spouse when they were around 14/15 and was a fan of his and groomed her until she was 17 in which he went to a lawyer to ask if it was legal to marry her yet. He was like 26 and she was 17 (I could be getting his age wrong but it was around that age and she was underage) when they married. He brainwashed his spouse into polygamy and then they too started grooming/making sexual advances towards teenagers. I might not be saying it correctly but the list goes on.
