Eva Longoria is exploring the exploits of an ambitious Latino chef in her latest comedy project.

Longoria’s production company has sold an untitled comedy script (formerly known as White People’s Problems) to ABC about an interracial couple. In the show, the lead character winds up operating a cafe along with his white father-in-law.

Bobby Bowman (My Name is Earl, Raising Hope) wrote the script and will executive produce with Longoria and Ben Spector. Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment is producing with Universal Television for ABC.

Longoria executive produces and stars in the upcoming NBC comedy Hot & Bothered; she’s also an executive producer on Lifetime’s Devious Maids. Her company is in the midst of a busy TV development season; at ABC it is also working on the project Pair of Aces, about rising Latino political stars in Texas (and inspired by a Vogue article about Julián Castro, the mayor of San Antonio, and his brother, congressman Joaquin Castro).

Bowman’s other credits include The Millers, Sons of Tucson and Yes, Dear.
