’90 Day Fiancé’s Sophie Sierra Defends Emma Perry Amid ‘Hunt for Love’ Drama

While 90 Day Fiancé star Emma Perry’s relationship with Jamal Menzies has come to the forefront on Season 2 of 90 Day: Hunt for Love, a different topic has taken over social media: her wig. Now, Season 1 star Sophie Sierra has spoken out in Emma’s defense.
During this season of Hunt for Love, Emma and Jamal seemed to grow incredibly close very fast before revealing that they had slept together the night before filming began. While Emma previously revealed that she had been hooking up with Rob Warne, Sophie’s ex-husband and Jamal’s best friend, she assured Jamal that they were no longer together.
At the start of her video about Emma, Sophie assured viewers, “This is not me choosing sides with the whole Hunt for Love thing— this is just me commenting on the experience that I’ve also had.” She then called out fans who have given Emma backlash for choosing to wear a wig instead of showing her natural hair. Sophie explained, “The whole thing with Emma’s wig, we get it, okay, she wears a wig, right. Who cares? I had the same experience. I wore a wig for like two years. It became my whole identity, the fact that I wore a wig.”
Having lived a similar experience, Sophie asked, “I just feel like, can we focus on, like, the show? So many cast members — we get such hate for our physical appearance, whether it’s our hair [or] our body. Everything is so heavily talked about and judged, and it’s so harsh, and it’s so detrimental to people’s mental health.”
But her connection to Emma doesn’t stop there. “I am mixed. My dad is Black. The same with Emma. She’s also mixed,” Sophie added. “Mixed people also come in all shades, and it’s very normal, especially for mixed girls and Black women to wear wigs. Regardless of your race, people wear wigs for different reason[s]. People should be able to express themselves [and] do what they want with their hair. It’s their hair!”
Of course, Sophie did have to comment on the Rob Warne of it all. She continued, “Cause I know you guys are also gonna be like, ‘Didn’t she sleep with your ex-husband?’ Yes, she did. I’m grown. I could care less who my ex sleeps with. I’m not gonna hate a girl just because she slept with him. She also didn’t know me when she slept with him.”

Emma previously revealed on TikTok that the reason she wears a wig comes down to personal preference. She likes having long, straight hair, and maintaining that look was damaging her hair.
