’90 Day’s Emma & Jamal Reveal Secret Hookup Days Before Filming ‘Hunt for Love’

Sure, fans knew that Emma Perry had hooked up with one of the 90 Day Bad Boys before filming 90 Day: Hunt for Love. But two 9o Day Bad Boys? That’s a major bombshell.
During the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 8 Tell All, Emma confirmed that she started hooking up with fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Rob Warne after her split from Ziad El Yahyaoui. It was later announced that Emma and Jamal Menzies, one of Rob’s fellow 90 Day Bad Boys stars, would be on 90 Day: Hunt for Love Season 2.
At the beginning of the premiere episode on October 5, Jamal confessed, “Emma is exactly my type, but she’s hooked up with my friend Rob, and our friendship means a lot. So, I really do feel like I need to stay away from Emma, but at the same time, I’m a weak man when it comes to temptation.” However, according to Emma, he had already given in to the temptation ahead of the show.
Emma explained, “I knew Jamal was going to be here because I told Rob in secret that I was coming here. And then, Rob told both of us.” According to Emma, she and Jamal started talking before they flew to Puerto Rico to start filming and found out that they were both getting in on the same day. Emma then revealed, “Two days ago, before coming to the retreat, Jamal and I actually met up. We went to a bar, we had a couple of drinks, and I ended up back in his hotel room.”
Emma then confirmed that they “hooked up” before the cameras started rolling. “I thought it was a great night,” she admitted. “I think we both enjoyed every single second.”
Of course, this leads us to question why Emma and Jamal didn’t talk about their Rob connection before the cameras started rolling as well. Trust us, we’re thrilled that this messy interaction happened on-screen. However, their Night 1 necklace swap left us with many questions. As Kara put it, “Of all the people that are here, you’re really going to go for the girl that your best friend dated?”
Almost immediately after crossing paths for the first time at the event, Emma and Jamal swapped necklaces, the night’s indication of who they were most interested in at the resort. Then, Emma asked him to kiss her, which felt very rushed without the knowledge that they had already been intimate.
To complicate things further, fellow 90 Day Fiancé alum Razvan Ciocoi decided to give Emma his necklace moments later. When Jamal saw the exchange, he went to talk to Ericka, a 90 Day newbie, who had previously given her necklace to Razvan. Then Jamal and Ericka walked over to Emma and Razvan, asking for both of their necklaces back. Emma’s response? “Not to be crazy, but I actually want to throw [Ericka] off a cliff.”
Later, Emma and Jamal got into an argument, where she confronted him about how he was treating her, and he brushed her off, saying she was being “crazy.” What he didn’t mention to the rest of the cast or the viewers was that he and Emma had a pre-existing physical relationship. With that context, her reaction seems pretty valid. Still, soon after their public fight, Razvan took his necklace back, too.
While Jamal decided at the necklace swap that a relationship with Emma wasn’t worth losing his friendship with Rob, at least on Night 1, Emma made it clear that she is going to pursue her ex-fling’s bestie. “I really think that Jamal is falling for me, but he just doesn’t know it yet,” she told viewers after admitting to their hookup. “He’s mine, b****es.”
