Although it lasted longer than Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to Humphries, the union was short-lived, with Thomas filing for divorce in 2003. While Kardashian sometimes references this relationship, it often gets forgotten amid her dating history, which includes current boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

Thomas is a music producer, best known for creating the R&B production duo The Underdogs with Harvey Mason Jr. He worked with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds in the 1990s and teamed up with Mason in 1999.
The Underdogs worked with artists including Justin Timberlake, Victoria Beckham, Lionel Richie, Chris Brown, and more. They also produced the soundtrack for the Dreamgirls film.
Thomas is now the CEO of Thomas Krown Records. The company has worked with Brown, Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, and more.
How did Kim Kardashian meet Damon Thomas?
Kardashian and Thomas first met when he was working with 3T, a music group comprised of Michael Jackson‘s nephews, including TJ Jackson, who Kardashian dated in high school.
“I met her then and then I was at Neverland and I saw her again, at Michael’s house,” Thomas told Vlad TV. “So she remembered me from that. I was just with them, just hanging.”
At the time, Kardashian was working at a store that Thomas sometimes frequented, but he never saw her there. His friend, singer Kevon Edmonds, did, though. “She asked him who he was working with and he said me and she said, ‘Can you put me in contact with him?’ That’s how it began,” Thomas insisted. “It wasn’t what people may say or think. It was her doing.”
When did Kim Kardashian and Damon Thomas get married?
The former couple tied the knot in 2000 when Kardashian was 19 and Thomas was either 28 or 29. They eloped during a trip to Las Vegas about a year after they got together.
She wasn’t talking to her parents at the time, or her mom at the time, I think. It was just young love.” Meanwhile, Kardashian once told Harper’s Bazaar, “We went to Vegas. He said, ‘Let’s get married.’ I said, ‘OK.'”
On a 2018 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the Skims founder said she was “on ecstasy” during the wedding. “I did ecstasy once, and I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape [with Ray J],” Kardashian spilled. “Like, everything bad would happen.”
Thomas, for his part, said he doesn’t remember there being drugs involved. “I think she should be more responsible with those statements because there’s a lot more to that subject and those things,” he explained. “I’ve been very responsible in not talking about what that marriage was and what it meant to me because it happened in the past. You can try to sweep it under the rug, but you don’t stay married to somebody or be with somebody for four or five years and it’s just based on you being high off ecstasy.”
When did Kim Kardashian and Damon Thomas get divorced?
Kardashian and Thomas separated in 2003 and finalized their divorce in 2004. In 2025, Kardashian reflected on being broke after the split and said Khloé Kardashian was the one to get her out of the bind.
“When Khloé was maybe 4 or 5 years old, she got this piggy bank in the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle. We would put so much money in it,” Kardashian shared. “When I was getting my first divorce, I moved out and had no money. I was, like 21, and she gave me her Coke bottle.”
The sisters counted $6,000 in the piggy bank, which “was enough for me to get a down payment on my apartment,” Kardashian shared. “She gave me her life savings at age 21.”
Does Damon Thomas have kids?
Yes, Thomas has a son, Dimas, with ex Sarai Tennille Torres, whom he dated after his divorce from Kardashian. In 2022, when Dimas was 16, Torres alleged to The Sun that Thomas only held the child one time as a baby and “hasn’t seen him since.”
Per the outlet, Thomas was ordered to pay Torres nearly $10,000 in child support in 2011. Torres claimed she only received two checks from Thomas and alleged that he owes her more than $1 million
“I am not the only woman who’s had his kid,” Torres added. It’s unclear how many kids Thomas has, but he confirmed during his VladTV interview that he has one child who “goes to the same school [Kardashian’s] kids go to.”
