Meet Jackson Olson’s Mom & Family In Honor of ‘DWTS’ Dedication Night
Jackson Olson‘s mom is heading to the ballroom for Dedication Night on Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars! As she makes her dance floor debut, we’re taking a deep dive into the Savannah Banana star’s family.
During the October 20 episode, Olson will be dancing a quickstep with Emma Slater to “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole. At some point in the dance, they’ll be joined on the dance floor by his mom, Laura Olson. Posting a selection of photos from their dress rehearsal, featuring Slater and his mom, Olson wrote, “Hey mom, this one’s for you.” Later, he showed off his hot pink tux for the night, that he gets to “live out [his] Broadway dreams” with his mom.

Who is Jackson Olson’s mom?
Olson has previously revealed that his mom, Laura, was a special education teacher. He shared, “My mom has worked in special education since she graduated college and strives to make schools a safe place for everyone every single day.” Ahead of her appearance on the show, Laura revealed, “I am beyond proud, and overwhelmed, and nervous, and all those wonderful emotions that I think I should be feeling right now. So it’s just amazing.”

What has Jackson said about dancing with his mom?
Ahead of Dedication Night, Olson wrote a sweet message to his mom on Instagram. He wrote, “Dear Mom, you know more than anyone how crazy my journey has been. You’ve been by my side through the grocery delivery days, the bad games, my baseball career ending and restarting, and through the terrible anxiety I’ve had for my entire life. You know exactly when to give me motherly advice and when to let me figure it out on my own.”
He added, “You’ve been my mom for 29 years, but as I’ve grown up and our bond has strengthened I’ve realized that you’re also my best friend. And for all of those 29 years, you’ve been the one behind the scenes supporting my dreams and ambitions, but now it’s time for YOU to shine. You deserve this mom, and I can’t wait to share that dance floor with you. L-O-V-E, Jackson.”

Who is Jackson Olson’s dad?
Jackson Olson learned a thing or two about baseball from his dad, Dan. He shared, “My dad was a baseball coach and worked for [Rawlings Sporting Goods] for 40 years. After he retired, he was still so motivated that he started a magazine for my hometown called New Milford Living.”
Talking about both of his parents, Olson gushed, “They have put so much time and energy into making sure me, my brother, and sister achieved everything we ever wanted. From going to every game, watching my niece grow up, and traveling to see us wherever we were in the world. They embody exactly what I want to be in a parent one day.”

Does Jackson Olson have siblings?
Jackson has two older siblings, brother Alex and sister Ari. Olson revealed in 2022 that Ari’s husband, Zach, was his brother’s friend first. As Olson put it, “He was one of my role models growing up, and now he’s my brother.” Today, he’s an incredibly proud uncle to his sister’s kids.
