Meet ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 11’s John Shannon: All About His MS Journey & More
Love Is Blind Season 11 is right around the corner, but before we travel to Boston, we’re getting to know some of the singles heading into the pods. One contestant who has caught many fans’ attention is John Shannon, who made a confession about his health during a preview for the season.
Season 11 of the hit dating series is set to follow a collection of Bostonians (and other New England natives) all looking for love with faith that they can find their person “sight unseen.” Ahead of the season, John has revealed that his ideal person is “someone who has strong convictions, really knows what she believes, and stands for it.” Could he find her in the pods?
Scroll to find out everything we know about John so far, including all about his MS diagnosis, his adorable dog, and the one thing he regrets about his Love Is Blind experience.
Who is John Shannon of Love Is Blind?
John Shannon is a 33-year-old Gemini and dog dad from Boston, who is obsessed with his Doberman Pinscher, Judo. (Honestly, after looking at his Instagram, we are, too!) Per Netflix, “Not liking animals is an immediate red flag” for John. He has also admitted that he lets his pup kiss him on the mouth, which was once a very controversial topic on The Circle.
In case you were wondering, he’s had a bit of a glow-up since the season filmed. According to John, he had “a bad haircut” while filming the series. (To quote Cher, “If I could turn back time…”) Of course, he posted a video of his adorable dog, defending his look on the show. Watch Judo’s “important announcement” below.

What is John’s job?
According to Netflix, John is an account executive. Right now, nothing else has been made public about his job. We couldn’t even find a LinkedIn profile!
What has John said about his MS diagnosis?
In the Season 11 trailer for Love Is Blind, John reveals that he was recently diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), which, according to the National Institutes of Health, is an autoimmune disorder wherein the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells. He explains in the pods, “I found this year I have MS,” adding, “I totally understand if that’s like a dealbreaker for you.” Later, he shares, “I fear my body falling apart. I hope you’re game for that.”

Does John get engaged?
We won’t know until the Love Is Blind premiere on October 14 whether John gets engaged or not. However, he can be seen in a pool (which is clearly not an amenity in the pods), so we can assume that he does get engaged to someone.
