‘Ted Lasso’: Are Roy & Keeley Finally Endgame?
Ted Lasso‘s latest episode finally picked a side in the will-they-won’t-they romance between Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple). Warning: Spoilers for Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 8!
After hinting at the possibility of rekindling old flames, Roy and Keeley’s romantic potential briefly stalled when he began dating his doctor, Erin (Laura Haddock), but his underlying feelings were too strong to deny. When Laura broke things off with Roy, he was left adrift, without Keeley knowing what unfolded.
Her annoyed attitude about him attending a special ceremony at his former Manchester team’s home base was certainly motivated by frustrations that he’d been involved with Laura, even if she didn’t want to admit it. When Roy refused to go to the special ceremony, Keeley refused to take no for an answer and got all dressed up to escort him there.
The trouble? They took his high-tech car that wasn’t equipped to get around narrow streets, leaving the duo stuck when Roy attempted to navigate through a small gate. Ditching the car, they snuck into the Tube to get to Manchester, much to Roy’s dismay as he revealed to Keeley how little he liked traveling aboard the underground public transport, citing the unreliable lights, delays on the tracks, and more.

It’s also at this point that he reveals to Keeley that he and Laura broke up, leading her to ask why he hadn’t told her. “I just did,” is his response. From there, he got on the train with Keeley, despite the fear, and a yearn-off ensued as the former couple couldn’t help but look into each other’s eyes. Unfortunately for Roy, the lights did go out briefly on the train, and they were left to take a scooter the rest of the way to Manchester’s facility, arriving far later than expected, to the point where only the cleaning crew was lingering.
It was during their observation of the scene around them that Roy decided to let Keeley know how he felt, telling her he hadn’t had this much fun in years, and she deserves to be put on a pedestal, and that it was he who had to rise to her level in order to make things work. The romantic speech earned Roy one heck of a kiss, seemingly sealing their endgame… finally!
But will it last forever? Only time will tell, and it isn’t the only romantic revelation in the season so far, as the previous episode hinted at Ted’s (Jason Sudeikis) search for love.
