Shekinah and Sarper Güven are truly over. After heading to Thornwood Castle on 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 3 as a united front, Shekinah has officially filed for divorce.
Shekinah and Sarper made their first 90 Day Fiancé franchise appearance on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Ahead of the season, TLC shared, “During a trip to Turkey, Shekinah, an aesthetician based in LA, met Sarper, a model and personal trainer. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts, and after only two days, they both fell head over heels for each other.”
After another season of The Other Way and an appearance on Season 11 of the flagship series, the duo put their love to the test on The Last Resort. While the duo recommitted in the regular season finale, Sarper confirmed at the Tell All that he and Shekinah had separated. Shekinah, who did not appear at the Tell All, has left the franchise.

Are Shekinah and Sarper still together?
Shekinah and Sarper are no longer together. During The Last Resort premiere, Shekinah revealed that she is less than happy with Sarper’s comments about their marriage in his comedy shows. Throughout the season, the couple tried to make amends; however, Shekinah felt that Sarper did not come to her defense when she was feuding with other couples. That said, their biggest issues came after the season was filmed.
At the Tell All, Sarper revealed that Shekinah and he had split off-camera. He claimed, “She left everything behind, and she moved to Miami by herself.” In addition, Sarper alleged that Shekinah requested $50,000 in cash for “emotional damage.” As he put it, “That stopped my heartache.” Now, Shekinah has made her own statement about their split and filed for divorce.

Why did Shekinah file for divorce?
Per TMZ, Shekinah filed for divorce from Sarper on September 29, just a day after the conclusion of The Last Resort Season 3. In the filing, she claimed that they have been separated since September 22, 2026. She also requested spousal support.
The 90 Day star told the outlet, “Filing for divorce was not a decision I made lightly or without heartbreak, but I’ve reached a point of no return. I’m choosing to let go with love, grieve what I believed we could have been, and begin moving forward with my life.”
What has Shekinah said about their split?
On September 22, Shekinah revealed why she ditched the Tell All and shared her side of their split story. In a social media statement, Shekinah explained that the Sarper she once knew and that fans saw onstage was completely different from who she lived with. She claimed, “The painful irony is that while I watched this bright, charming, charismatic version of him grow in front of the world, I was getting a very different version of him behind closed doors… I wondered why complete strangers were getting the version of my husband that I desperately wanted to.”
Shekinah also explained that she moved to Miami after getting kicked off of Sarper’s tour, choosing Florida because her daughter started college in the area. Addressing her daughter and calling out her ex, Shekinah wrote, “I hope you never let someone who couldn’t love you properly convince you that you’re difficult to love.”
Why were Shekinah and Sarper on The Last Resort?
Shekinah and Sarper came to Thornbury Castle one year into their marriage with high hopes for the future. However, Sarper shared, “Marriage is difficult. We are arguing so much. It is just like swimming against the water flow. Even though we love each other, sometimes I think that we are not compatible anymore.”
As Shekinah put it, “I don’t think that we’re incompatible. I think that if we learned to communicate better, I think that we could be amazing.” She later confessed, “One of the issues in this relationship has to do with Sarper’s career choice. He’s an amazing comedian, but he has chosen most of his material to be about our marriage, and it makes a big joke of our relationship.”
