The Dynasty: UConn Huskies

Matt Roush says...

The stats are beyond impressive: 12 national championships, six undefeated seasons. Under the exacting leadership of Hall of Fame head coach Geno Auriemma, the women’s basketball program at the University of Connecticut has achieved legend status, and a three-part docuseries reveals the sacrifice and struggle it takes on and off the court to reach this level of achievement. The series includes candid interviews with the “relentless” Auriemma, players from the 2025 National Championship team and from other glory years, rarely mincing words when describing the pressure of living up to expectations from fans and the coach. “It has to be us against him,” remembers Hall of Famer and UConn alum Sue Bird (1998-2002). “You won’t survive if you don’t figure that out.” Most seem to agree it was worth it.
