Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes plays a very different sort of nurse in an emotional drama that veers away from Lifetime’s typical woman-in-peril formula. In Mercy, she’s Army trauma nurse Major Kendra Williams, who returns home for her estranged mother’s funeral and finds a new calling when she helps deliver a baby during an emergency on a roadside. After being introduced to the understaffed maternity and neonatal wards of the local Mercy Hospital, Kendra faces a reckoning with the daughter she abandoned as a teenager. She also reunites with her first love (Tahmoh Penikett), now married to her one-time best friend.
