Zac Brown

Country music sensation Zac Brown was only eight years old the first time he picked up his mother's guitar and began learning how to play. It would prove to be an important moment for the Georgia native, whose life would remain entwined with music.

He began playing local shows while he was still in high school, inspired by singer-songwriters like James Taylor. By the time he was 19 and enrolled at the University of West Georgia, Brown was arranging songs with a full band, honing the country sound that he would become famous for.

In 2002, the 24-year-old was touring the nation, playing an average of 200 shows per year. He began recording on his own label, Home Grown (later renamed Southern Ground), and later opened a Southern-style restaurant and music venue with his father called Zac's Place.

Finally, in 2008, the Zac Brown Band was signed to the major label Live Nation Artists Records, and released their first album, The Foundation. The record was nominated for several awards and Brown took home the Grammy for Best New Artist.

That year also saw Brown become a father to his first daughter Justice with his wife, Shelly Brown. More hit records like 2010's You Get What You Give, 2012's Uncaged, and 2015's Jekyll+Hyde would follow, as did several more children for the Browns, who would welcome three more girls, Lucy, Georgia, and Joni, and a boy, Alexander.
