Peter Newman

Peter Newman is an American voice actor best known for his work during the 1980s with Rankin/Bass Productions and related animated series. He is most recognized for voicing several characters in the popular animated TV series "ThunderCats" (1985–1989), including Tygra, Wilykat, and Bengali. Newman also lent his voice to "SilverHawks" (1986), where he played Quicksilver and several supporting roles, and "TigerSharks" (1987), voicing characters like Mako.

His voice acting style often featured a commanding, heroic tone, which made him well-suited for leading roles in action-oriented animated series of that era. Newman was part of a small group of New York-based voice actors frequently used by Rankin/Bass, and while his work was mostly concentrated in the 1980s, it has maintained a cult following among fans of retro animation.
