Keith Hopwood is a British musician, composer, and former member of the iconic 1960s pop band Herman’s Hermits. Born in 1946, Hopwood found early success as the rhythm guitarist for the group, which became one of the leading bands of the British Invasion alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
With Herman’s Hermits, Hopwood contributed to a string of international hits, including “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” and “No Milk Today.” The band’s popularity led to film opportunities, and in 1965, Hopwood appeared in the musical "When the Boys Meet the Girls", featuring Connie Francis. He later played himself in the 1966 film “Hold On!” and again in 1968’s “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter.”
Beyond his work with Herman’s Hermits, Hopwood transitioned into composing for film and television. His music was featured in Disney’s "The Big Friendly Giant" (1990-91), and he later made a significant impact in children’s television, scoring beloved shows such as "Pingu" and "Bob the Builder" from 2004 onward.
Throughout his career, Hopwood has remained an influential figure in both pop and children’s entertainment, blending his talents as a musician, composer, and performer across multiple generations.
