Jonathan Joss was born in 1965 in San Antonio, Texas, where he attended McCollum High School. Here he met filmmaker Mark A. Watson, with whom he collaborated on a number of plays while the two studied drama and sang in the chorus.

Joss began his screen career with appearances in movies like the rodeo drama "8 Seconds" and the TV mini-series "Dead Man's Walk," an Emmy-nominated western. In the mid-1990s he landed the part of young Raymond Firewalker on cult favorite Chuck Norris drama "Walker, Texas Ranger."

While snagging small roles on hit shows like the medical drama "ER" and the coven-based dramedy "Charmed," McCollum managed his way into films like the pioneer comedy "Almost Heroes." In 1997, he dove into voice work, when he replaced the late Victor Aaron as the voice of the adulterous John Redcorn on the long-running redneck animated comedy, "King of the Hill," in 1997. He can be heard in more than thirty episodes during the show's impressive 13-season run.

In addition to his career as an actor, Joss also fronted The Red Corn Band.
