Actor Jason Genao enjoyed recurring roles in "The Get Down" (Netflix, 2016-17) and "On My Block" (Netflix, 2018-) but is best-known for playing young mutant leader Rictor in the gritty superhero movie "Logan" (2017). Born in Jersey City in 1997, Genao first started performing in various school productions and after honing his talents at a local acting school he made his screen debut playing an FBI Agent in the Latin-American action comedy "Ladrones" (2015). A year later he guested as a teenage delinquent in an episode of "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-) and auditioned for the role of leading man Zeke in Baz Luhrmann's love letter to the New York hip-hop and disco scenes of the 1970s, "The Get Down" (Netflix, 2016-17). Genao missed out on the part but instead was cast as Napoleon, the street gang leader who becomes The Get Down Brothers' record boy. Genao then joined the superhero universe when he bagged the part of Rictor, the leader of the young mutant group, in the surprisingly subversive X-Men spin-off "Logan" (2017). He returned to the small screen to play Rudi, one of four teenage leads, in the inner-city coming of age dramedy "On My Block" (Netflix, 2018-).
