Death Date: November 9, 2006

Birth Place: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Ed Bradley was a ground-breaking African-American journalist who enjoyed a long career at CBS, including more than 25 years with the award-winning news magazine show, "60 Minutes" (CBS, 1968- ). He was the recipient of just about every journalism honor in existence - including 19 Emmy Awards for distinctive, hard-hitting investigative pieces and intimate, personal profiles of celebrities and news figures. The versatile Bradley stood out from other journalists for his approachable demeanor and seemed equally at home at a basketball game, a music festival, or questioning a high-profile criminal behind bars. The journalistic community was stunned by his sudden passing from leukemia-related complications in 2006. He was just 65 years old.
