David Walton is an accomplished TV actor who was always working, yet rarely seemed to be cast on a show that lasted longer than a few episodes. Walton's first series regular role came in 2004 when he joined the cast of Fox's "Cracking Up." The show, however, was cancelled after six episodes. That same fate of early cancellation would befall the next five TV shows Walton appeared on, among them "Heist" (NBC 2006) and "Perfect Couples" (NBC 2010-11), before an undeterred Walton landed the lead role on the sitcom "About a Boy" (NBC 2014-15). He may have encountered numerous professional disappointments throughout his career, but time and time again David Walton proved his uncanny ability to forget about the past, move on, and secure new TV work.

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Walton graduated from Brown University before moving to New York City in 2001 to pursue a career as a an actor. He studied the craft at The Actor's Center and before long was landing roles in short films and in the romantic drama "Stateside" (2004). His first big break came in 2004 when he joined the cast of the Fox sitcom "Cracking Up." However, the show was cancelled after six episodes due to poor ratings and a mixed critical response. Unfortunately for Walton, who was relatively new to television, it would not be the last time one of his shows was cancelled prematurely. Over the next eight years, Walton landed series regular parts on five NBC shows - "Heist" (2006), "Quarterlife" (2008), "100 Questions" (2010), "Perfect Couples" (2010-2011), and "Bent" (2012) - all of which were canceled after a few episodes. Throughout this period, Walton also appeared in a few movies, including "Fired Up!' (2009) and "Burlesque" (2010), before trying his hand at TV once again after landing the lead role on NBC's "About a Boy." That show, based on the novel by English writer Nick Hornby, debuted in February 2014 as a mid-season replacement. Walton starred as a thirtysomething bachelor whose life is upturned when a single mother and her son move in next door.
