In 2023, ABC expanded Bachelor Nation with the release of a new spinoff: The Golden Bachelor. The first season starred then-71-year-old Gerry Turner looking for love following the death of his wife.
Since then, the Golden franchise has been a staple on ABC’s fall schedule. In 2024, Joan Vassos, one of Turner’s contestants, returned as the lead for the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelorette, and Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor, starring Mel Owens, aired in 2025.
