What’s Worth Watching: On Arrow, Laurel is the New Black…Canary

Arrow, “Midnight City” (Wednesday, January 28, 8/7c, The CW)

It’s the moment fans have been waiting for! After several months of rage-training to deal with her sister’s murder, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) has suited up as the Black Canary and is going rogue on the streets of Starling City. But tonight, the leather-clad crime fighter takes a major step toward officially becoming a member of Team Arrow when Digg (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) recruit her to help them take down a baddie holding the town’s politicians hostage. Hope she’s up to the challenge: Not only will our heroes be watching her closely for any signs of weakness, so too will the less-than-loving viewers who have a hard time seeing anyone in that mask and wig than Caity Lotz. Go easy on her, kids. Those are not easy boots to fill!
