Dateline NBC has been an NBC staple since 1992. For 35 years, the anchors and correspondents have investigated everything from high-profile murders to significant events shaping our country.

Lester Holt has been the main host/anchor of Dateline NBC since 2011, and he’s assembled quite the team of correspondents. Many of these reporters have been with Dateline since the 1990s, and viewers have grown to respect these journalists through the years. They’ve become mainstays within the expanding true-crime phenomenon.

Dateline’s lead anchor has been happily married to his wife, Carol Hagen, since May 8, 1982. They met in California and said “I do” in San Francisco. They have two sons, Stefan, who was born in 1987, and Cameron, who came along in 1990. Stefan has followed in his father’s broadcasting footsteps. He’s currently a news anchor for NBC in Chicago.

Correspondent Andrea Canning has been with Dateline since 2012. Four years before joining the Dateline team, she married her husband, Tony Bancroft. He’s a retired fighter pilot who now works for Gabelli Funds. They have six kids together, five daughters and one son: Anna (born 2009), Charlotte “Charlie” (born 2010), Christina “Kiki” (born 2012) Georgia (born 2014), Elle (born 2015), and George Anthony Bancroft III (born 2019).

Blayne Alexander

Alexander is the newest Dateline correspondent, having joined the team in 2015. She’s been married to her husband, James Bailey, since 2016. They have two daughters together.

Keith Morrison

Morrison has been married to his wife, Suzanne Perry, since 1981. They had met two years earlier in 1979. Morrison and Perry have four kids together, Caitlin, Emily, Will, and Madeline. He also has a son, Michael, from a previous relationship. Morrison was also a stepdad to Perry’s son, actor Matthew Perry, who died in 2023.

Dennis Murphy has been a correspondent for Dateline since 1994. He’s been married to his wife, Marilyn Sibyl Holm, since July 16, 1977. They reside in Florida.

Josh Mankiewicz

Josh Mankiewicz first met his now wife, Anh Tu Dang, in 2009 while waiting in the T.S.A. line at LAX. They had a chat, and he handed her his business card. She called him weeks later, and they started dating. The Dateline correspondent broke things off and decided to pursue another relationship. Four years later, they rekindled their spark. Mankiewicz and Dang wed in 2016. “Sometimes the path to love is slow, sometimes — courtesy of T.S.A. — it is excruciatingly slow,” Mr. Mankiewicz said. “But I suppose we should thank them. It gave us time to have that first talk,” he told The New York Times.
