Shortly after Charli D’Amelio found global fame on social media and entered the spotlight, her family followed closely behind her. Her older sister, Dixie, and their parents, Heidi and Marc, signed with the same talent agency and started businesses before starring in the Hulu docuseries The D’Amelio Show, which followed their move to Los Angeles and newfound fame. Their show ran for three seasons.

In May 2026, gossip site DeuxMoi alleged that Charli’s parents stole millions of dollars from her while they managed her career. Months earlier, fans noticed that Charli no longer followed Marc and Heidi. Marc wrote in the comments of the DeuxMoi post, “This is not true. We love Charli but she is being manipulated and I have the receipts. Over the last six years we have remained silent and never addressed gossip but the time has come to set the record straight.”

The whole family hasn’t been photographed together since Charli made her Broadway debut in &Juliet in October 2024. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published almost exactly two years later, the 22-year-old social media star addressed the rumors and explained where she stands with her family members. Keep reading for the full rundown on who Charli’s parents and sister are, as well as why Charli distanced herself from them.

Who are Charli D’Amelio’s parents?

Marc and Heidi raised their family in Connecticut. Before having their girls, Heidi was a personal trainer and model. She met Marc — who was a salesman for sportswear company Mitchell & Ness at the time — in a New York City gym in 1997, marrying three years later. Dixie was born in August 2001, and Charli was born in May 2004.

From 2000 to 2007, Marc founded and served as president of the Madsoul Clothing Company, per his LinkedIn. He’s continued working in the apparel industry, though he tried to transition into politics. Hr ran as the Republican candidate for the 25th State Senate District in 2018, ultimately losing to Democrat Bob Duff after earning less than 40 percent of the vote, according to the Daily Voice.

In June 2019, the couple’s lives changed when Charli went viral on TikTok and she dropped out of high school at 16 for her career. After launching their own social media brands, they co-founded D’Amelio Brands in 2022. Marc has the company as his current place of employment on LinkedIn. Amidst starring in their reality show, Heidi competed Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars alongside her daughter. Then 18-year-old Charli won, while her mother ended up in eighth place.

In summer 2020, Charli signed with UTA as a package deal with her family, including her elder sister. Dixie became a social media personality, too, and in 2020, she signed a record deal with HitCo Entertainment, releasing her first single “Be Happy.” That same year, Dixie and Charli recorded a weekly podcast, Charli and Dixie: 2 Chix, which ran until June 2021. Her first and only full-length album, a letter to me, came out in 2022.

What happened between Charli D’Amelio and her family?

Charli didn’t address the DeuxMoi post speculation that her parents stole her money until October 2026, despite her father’s immediate dismissal of the claim. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charli is currently trying to find out who she is apart from her family,

“There are not a lot of rules and regulations when it comes to people who do what I do,” Charli said. “I didn’t start learning about and getting involved in my financials until I was about 21. I’m very fortunate to be able to be living the life that I am, but I’ve also been working nonstop since I was 15, so I should have stuff to show for it.”

As for if the rumors true, she said, “No, they’re not true. I wouldn’t say that they stole my money.”

She paused, adding, “I think we did a lot of things as a family.”

Since moving to New York without her family for Broadway, Charli separated herself from the D’Amelio family business and, now at 22 years old, oversees her own finances. Her father has revealed online that he and Charli only speak “through her lawyer.”

Charli also addressed where she stands with Dixie as of October 2022. “I mean, that’s my sister. I’m going to love her till the day I die,” she explained. “But there are times where you’re figuring stuff out.”
