However, some people are just now joining the fandom now that the Sarah M. Eden adaptation has arrived on Prime Video, meaning they’ve only just met “the most feared man in England,” aka Duke Adam Boyce of Kielder.
That means they likely haven’t gotten to know the actor playing Persephone Lancaster (Ryann Bailey)’s love interest, Jake Stormoen. Where is Jake Stormoen from?
Don’t let his British accent fool you. Stormoen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He did leave the States briefly for school, studying Creative Media at the University of Southern Queensland.
“I actually started here at the University doing an exchange program,” Stormoen told the university, from which he graduated in 2011. “My time at the University of Southern Queensland was the best of my life and absolutely shaped where I went afterwards.”
After university, he worked as a waiter for six months and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, per talent agency MN2S. The actor has split his time between Los Angeles and Utah, where Seeking Persephone is filmed.
“I was living in LA and working two retail jobs and I was in acting class and I had gone to university for behind the camera and all of these things,” he said on the Hallmarkies podcast. “I was just bouncing all over and it felt like it took forever.” He added that, in retrospect, it wasn’t that long. He booked his first major role after working retail for about a year and a half.

Stormoen, who has born in 1988, is 38 years old. His first project, which was uncredited, was 2008’s Step Up 2: The Streets, so he made his film debut when he was about 20 years old.

What other movies and TV shows has Jake Stormoen been in?
Stormoen began establishing himself in the fantasy and sci-fi genre, starting with his breakout role in 2014. He starred as half-elf Dagen in Mythica: A Quest for Heroes and filmed four more installments — The Necromancer, The Darkspore, The Godslayer, and The Iron Crown — in two years. In 2023, he returned to the franchise to direct Mythica: Stormbound.
Stormoen said that his biggest “geek love” is fantasy, explaining that he’s a Dungeons and Dragons player. “I literally wanted to be a Knight growing up,” he told Nerd Alert News. “I was constantly out in the woods behind my house sword fighting with sticks, slaying imaginary monsters, and exploring imaginary dungeons. As I grew up, my nose was often buried in a fantasy novel and then expanded into a lot of gaming as well, both tabletop and video.”
His next leading role came in the form of 2017’s single-season sci-fi series Extinct. Stormoen starred as Captain Garret Spears in The CW’s fantasy series The Outpost, which ran from 2018 to 2021.
Outside of the entertainment industry, Stormoen runs a Dungeons and Dragons dice company called Storm Forged Dice and a jewelry brand called Unearthed Emporium. He designs fantasy-inspired pieces and brings them to life with the help of artists.
