A Look Back at ‘Y&R’ Star Courtney Hope’s Relationship History
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) just tied the knot with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) on The Young and the Restless, but the drama is far from over. In the middle of a private conversation with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) after her wedding, Sally went into labor.
While Sally has found her happily ever after with Billy, what about the actress playing her? As the new Mrs. Abbott enters a new chapter of her life — in more ways than one — here’s what you need to know about Hope’s past relationships.
Is Courtney Hope dating anyone?
As of now, Hope hasn’t publicly addressed her relationship status. The Y&R actress is seemingly single as she focuses on her career, which also includes voicing the role of Jesse Faden in the game CONTROL Resonant.
Following her split from former General Hospital star Chad Duell (more on that below), she began dating Grossman. They never explicitly confirmed their romance, but they shared photos of each other on social media. They have since broken up, but neither Hope nor Grossman have shared details about what happened. They continue to work together on Y&R. Today, Grossman is dating travel blogger Katy Johnson.
Who is Courtney Hope’s ex-husband?
Hope was previously married to Duell. They got engaged in February 2021 after five years of dating. Hope and Duell married in a gothic outdoor wedding just months later in October. The then-couple wore red, while their guests were dressed in black.

“Just getting to create memories forever, our future children and family, the places we’ll travel and all the laughs we’ll have makes me so thrilled to think about. I enjoy every day with him, so each present moment is beyond fulfilling,” she told People at the time.
Their marriage was short-lived. Hope and Duell split in December 2021, less than two months after their wedding.
Duell addressed his split from Hope on Maurice Benard‘s State of Mind podcast on January 2022. He revealed that their marriage wasn’t technically legal because they never signed any paperwork.
“It’s a complicated situation, and it’s not what anybody thinks,” Duell said. “I’m not going to get into detail, but it’s not what people think. It’s just… there [wasn’t] anything terrible that happened or someone did to anybody else. We’re still on good terms and she’s an amazing person in so many ways.”
He added, “All I have to say is positive things and it’s just…mutual, we didn’t actually sign anything. We weren’t really, like, you know, married or anything really. It was amicable, kinda just that. That’s all I can really say. We always want the best for each other, and that’s all I really can say.”
