‘Teen Mom’s Cory Wharton Confirms Taylor Selfridge Split: All About Their Relationship
Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge‘s relationship has been complicated from the get-go, and they’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs over the years. Right after they met on Ex on the Beach in 2017, Wharton learned he was the father of Cheyenne Floyd’s daughter, Ryder, who was less than one year old at the time.
After Wharton settled into his role as a dad, he and Selfridge decided to commit to one another in 2019. They went on to build a family of their own and opened up a healthy coparenting relationship with Floyd and her now-husband, Zach Davis.
But recently, Wharton’s flirtation with Izzy Fairthorne on Season 42 of The Challenge has brought up some questions about where he and Selfridge stand. Scroll down for everything we know.
This couple has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the years, so where do they stand now? Scroll down for everything we know.
Are Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge still together?
No, Wharton and Selfridge are no longer together. He confirmed their split in an October 8 Instagram post. “A new chapter. Just me and my girls,” he wrote. “Taylor and I have decided to go our separate ways, as hard as that is to say publicly, I think it’s important to be honest about where my life is at this moment.”
He then addressed his ex directly, adding, We shared a lot of years, memories, love, and most importantly, we have two beautiful daughters . I’m sorry, Taylor, that things didn’t work out the way we both hoped they would. I know there were times I could’ve been better, and I’m sorry for the ways I let you down.”

Selfridge also posted about the split on her Instagram Story. “Yes I left,” she confirmed. “I was sick of not getting basic respect from the person I was with for 9 years and the father of my two children. I’m sure everyone could tell the last few years. I deserve more than that and I’ll get it. End of story.”
Did Cory Wharton cheat on Taylor Selfridge?
Even before Fairthorne, Wharton had a history of questionable behavior during his relationship with Selfridge. He and Fairthorne don’t appear to have ever gotten physical, and their flirtation ended when Wharton left The Challenge because his daughter was sick and in the hospital. She confirmed to TV Insider that they haven’t had contact since she reached out to him to make sure his daughter was OK after filming.
Wharton has admitted to being unfaithful in the past, though. He and Selfridge appeared on Teen Mom: Family Reunion in 2024, and Wharton said that there’s a lack of trust in their relationship because he cheated on her five years prior.
“Cory just wants me to get over it because it happened so long ago,” Selfridge explained. “Yes, it happened five years ago, but I’m not over it yet, and I feel like it’s something we haven’t worked through yet. I’m definitely still holding a grudge about it. I don’t forget. That’s the problem.”
Do Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge have kids?
Yes, they have two children together, and also coparent Ryder. Selfridge gave birth to her and Wharton’s daughter, Mila, in April 2020, followed by another daughter, Maya, in June 2022. Maya had two open heart surgeries after being born with a congenital heart condition.

“Watching your kid sit there in a hospital bed was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” Wharton said in 2024, the same year he celebrated the one-year anniversary of her surgery. “I learned so much throughout that process,” he shared on Instagram. “One of the biggest things is health is wealth, I don’t care how much money you have. It all means NOTHING if you’re not healthy.”
Now that he and Selfridge have split, Wharton said he’s more committed than ever to being the best dad he can be.
“One thing that will never change is the kind of father I want to be,” Wharton shared. “These three girls are my entire world & entering this new chapter It only makes me want to show up for them even more. I want my girls to always know that regardless of what changes in life, Dad isn’t going anywhere. Always PRESENT.
He continued, “This chapter is about them, but it’s also about me doing the work that I need on myself — learning from my mistakes, growing, healing, and becoming the best version of myself I can be.”
