Rebekah Del Rio (July 10, 1967 – June 23, 2025) was an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and occasional actress, best known for her unforgettable musical collaboration with David Lynch.

Born in Chula Vista, California, and raised in San Diego, Del Rio gained early recognition when the San Diego Union‑Tribune named her one of the city's top ten singers. In 1989, she moved to Los Angeles, and by 1994 was signed in Nashville to Giant Records, recording her debut album, Nobody’s Angel. The title track climbed to #2 in the Dutch charts.

Her career-defining moment came in 2001 with a cameo in David Lynch’s "Mulholland Drive", where she performed "Llorando" — a Spanish-language rendition of Roy Orbison’s "Crying" — live and a cappella during the haunting Club Silencio scene. On screen she appears to collapse while the vocals continue, creating one of cinema’s most emotionally chilling moments. Del Rio confirmed she sang live every take to preserve its authenticity.

Beyond Mulholland Drive, Del Rio collaborated again with Lynch in "Twin Peaks: The Return" (2017), performing “No Stars” alongside Moby, and appeared in "Southland Tales" (singing “The Star‑Spangled Banner”), with her voice featured in soundtracks for films like "Sin City," "Man on Fire," and "Streets of Legend."

Rebekah Del Rio passed away on June 23, 2025, at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 57.
