Narvel Blackstock is an American music manager, television producer, and former steel guitar player, best known for his long-standing connection to the country music industry and his marriage to country superstar Reba McEntire. Born on August 31, 1956, in Tarrant County, Texas, he began his career as a musician, playing in Reba's band before transitioning into management and production.
Blackstock and McEntire married in 1989 and became not only a personal but also a professional partnership. He played a key role in managing her career through their company, Starstruck Entertainment, which also represented other major artists over the years, including Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Narvel and Reba divorced in 2015 after 26 years of marriage, but they reportedly remained on amicable terms.
He is also known as the father of Brandon Blackstock, who was previously married to Kelly Clarkson. That relationship, along with professional ties — Brandon was also managed by Starstruck — led to several legal disputes following Clarkson and Brandon’s divorce in 2020, including lawsuits involving commissions and management fees.
