Les Dennis

Les Dennis is a British actor, comedian, and television presenter who became a beloved figure in the UK entertainment world, particularly from the 1980s through the early 2000s. Born Leslie Dennis Heseltine on October 12, 1953, in Liverpool, England, he began his career in entertainment as a stand-up comedian, eventually gaining national recognition after winning the talent show "New Faces" in 1974.

Dennis is perhaps best known for hosting the long-running British game show "Family Fortunes" (the UK version of "Family Feud") from 1987 to 2002. His affable, self-deprecating style made him a favorite with audiences, and he became synonymous with the show during that period.

Beyond hosting, Les Dennis had a successful career as a comedian, often working alongside other stars of the British comedy circuit like Russ Abbot. He was also a regular figure in variety shows and comedy programs throughout the 1980s and early '90s.
