Karen Sheperd is an American actress and martial artist best known for her roles in action films during the 1980s and 1990s. She rose to prominence as one of the first women to hold a world title in professional karate, becoming the first woman to be rated #1 in the world in forms (kata) by "Karate Illustrated" magazine.
Her breakthrough in entertainment came when she transitioned from martial arts competition to acting, often cast in roles that showcased her athleticism. She appeared in a number of martial arts and action films, including "Righting Wrongs" (also known as "Above the Law", 1986), where she starred alongside Yuen Biao and Cynthia Rothrock. She also had roles in films such as "Mission of Justice", "Hot Boyz", and "Ring of Fire" sequels.
In addition to her film work, Sheperd guest-starred on various television series throughout the '80s and '90s, including "Knight Rider", "Hunter", and "Renegade".
